Sean’s Notes
Eamonn Mulligan RIP
The death occurred this week of Eamonn Mulligan, a name synonymous with our Club. A stalwart player for the Seans , along with his brother Seamus, they soldiered in the early years to establish the clubs foundations. Eamonn was among a number of men who were driven with ambition to make the Seans Club great. Following his playing career, Eamonn entered into the administrative side of the work and was Secretary and committee member for many years. Without Eamonn and people of his generation the Club would not have survived and for that he and others will be fondly remembered. The Sean Mac Diarmada Club would like to extend sympathies to his wife Angela, Children, Regina, Finbar, Macartan, Catherine and his brother Seamus , grandchildren and extended family. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam naofa.

Intermediate League
The seniors travelled to Doohamlet on Sunday in search of their first points of league. With a number of injuries hampering selection, the team had some younger faces taking up the vacant positions. The early stages of the first half had points traded with little between the teams. The soring heat was energy sapping and as the half closed we trailed by three points. The second half began like a rocket as we rattled the oppositions net within a minute of the restart. While this boosted the lads, Doohamlet were able to steady their ship and continued to tip over points. Their experienced players played to their strengths and gave us little options from there on. The home team secured victory and while we have introduced more new players and showed great improvements, the search still goes on for league points.
U13’s
Hard luck to our U13’s who put up a gallant effort against Killeevan on Saturday. In a high scoring game the lads gave it everything and while they nearly got it over the line , they just fell short. Great improvements all round.
U18’s
Well done to the minor squad as they secured the first final of the year on Monday night. Victory over Oram in the Division 3 League semi final has been a super achievement for the team. The game was an example of the work and effort they have put in all season as they controlled game, having gone behind in the first half. Some great inter-play resulted in excellent scores and defending was of the highest quality. Having been beaten by Oram in the league they settled the score with a convincing win and a final place with the opponents still to be decided.
