The Great Shave Off

Friday Night in the Plex bar at 9pm will be awash with facial hair, as we conclude our Movember Challenge. Well done to the lads for their perseverance and all the itching but relief will come on Friday when all is removed. Please come and support this fundraising event for the Crocus Mens Den in Monaghan. We will have opportunities for you to try you’re a hand at shaving the competitors for the right price. Its guaranteed to be craic all the way and we’ll have music from Aiden Clerkin to help it along.

AGM

A well attended AGM was held on Sunday last in the Club Complex. A report on the year was presented in detail from the Officers of the Executive Committee. Our secretary, Fergal Ward, outlined the year that was 2022 and all club activities. From Juveniles to Seniors all aspects of the club were delivered on. Chairperson, Brian McPhillips, made a fitting address to the membership on the passing of Mr. Gerry Lynch during the past year. He also congratulated the outgoing Senior Management for their dedication and commitment during their tenure. With considerable development scheduled for 2023, he complimented the various projects and all associated with getting them to this stage. Peadar McGuinness steps down as Registrar and his work over the years was acknowledged and praised by the Chairperson. Roisin McGuirk will now take up the position for 2023. We would like to welcome Adam O Driscoll, Seanine Larkin, Conor McElvaney and Sean Mullen who all join the Executive Committee for 2023. A word of thanks to Mary McConnon, who has been treasurer for the last number of years. She will step back to Assistant Treasurer and Ashley Maguire will now assume her role for 2023. However, her experience and expertise will be readily available and hopefully she wont be far away from the action for the coming year. Brian brought the proceedings to a conclusion with a short prayer reflecting on the year that has past, the members that are no longer with us and looking forward to the coming year.
