U17’s Div 3A Final

Always an achievement in itself to be in a final, and we cannot underestimate the work and effort of our U17 team and managers to reach it on Monday night last. However, on a horrible, miserable wet evening, Aghabog prospered, at our expense, to secure the prize. Their strong performance may have overawed us somewhat and stymied our efforts. The end result left Aghabog the victors and good luck to them. However, a glimmer of hope has emerged from this disappointment, as out of the U17 squad on the night, eight of the players are from our U15 team. What we lost in physicality on the night we have gained in experience and this will always be invaluable. We wish the couple of players, now carrying injuries, a speedy recovery, and its noses back to the grind stone as our championship will soon be upon us.

Field Development

We have now managed to get our training pitch sowed and looking well. Hopefully the fruits of the hard work will shortly appear with sprouting grass shoots. Can all coaches ensure limited access to the area to retrieve footballs. Also, keep an eye out, as our walking track which will soon be underway.

A Walk to Remember Adam

Adam was a beautiful, fun, witty, caring young 14 year old boy when, on 26th July last year he was tragically taken from us and his life full of promise and plans taken from him. His Mum and family, for his first anniversary, wish to honour his memory and celebrate his life, by having a fun walk/run while also raising funds for Temple Street Children’s Hospital. Temple Street, among others, desperately tried to save Adam and provided him and his family with excellent care in his short time there, particularly the ICU Department & Social Care Team. The walk/run is 5km and will take place on Saturday 6th August 2022 at 3pm leaving from the Sean’s Complex. There will be light refreshments for participants on return. We are asking you to register here for a fee of €15, registration on the day is also available and children under 12 are free. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you all on the day.
