It was another Bank Holiday Bonanza on Monday night. With our regular ring master Fergal, on holidays up stepped a new fresh faced youngster to call the numbers. Thanks Brendan, you played a blinder. Well done to all our lucky winners this week as we paid out over €5000 in prizes. One lucky punter scooped a €1000 , however our main jackpot was not won, so next week it will be at €10500. Don’t forget to shout when you ‘check’….. its worth another tenner!!! Make sure you get in early and get your books. You can also watch our bingo on Facebook. If you have any queries, please message us on Facebook, Instagram etc, and we will assist in every way possible. Always remember, in playing bingo at home everybody stays safe.

Match Day Sponsors

We are seeking match day sponsors for our League games this year. Families and friends are more than welcome to become a sponsor. Maybe you would like to join up with other members for a game, if so, contact Karen McKenna on 0879083438 to discuss.

Reserves

Our reserves travelled to Toome on Friday last for the next round of the league. It was a youthful lineout that carried themselves off with an unnerving guile on the night. They played catch up for most of the game although they had peppered the Toome square with unsuccessful efforts. However, as they say, it only takes one good one and this came in the final minutes. Ciaran Maguire rattled the net and salvaged a draw. Well done lads.

Feile Regional Finals

An Historic day for the Club on Saturday, when our U15’s represented the County at the Regional Finals of Feile in Garvaghey. This would be a stern test of their metal as the faced a day of blitz style games with teams from all over Ulster. Their quest began with a meeting against Drumgath from Co. Down. This was a tough encounter but early scores and a tight defensive line gave us victory. Next up was the Coa O’Dwyers Club from Co. Fermanagh. This was a much more comprehensive win as we powered through and took some quality scores from all angles. Game two done and two wins under the belt. They now had a rest as they had qualified for the semi final stage and they relaxed in the warm but breezy sunshine. The semi final had us line up against Ardoyne Kickhams from Belfast and this would be their toughest test to date. We took full advantage of the first half breeze and clocked up a ten point lead at the break. Given the unpredictability of the game, the second half tested our strengths. Although the Kickhams pressed hard, we stood our ground. Despite a penalty conversion in last minutes we held our nerve and we there. A final beckoned for us but to our detriment it would be played immediately after the energy sapping semi final game. The opposition, Newbridge GAC from Derry, had the benefit of the break and this would be our downfall. The lads were exhausted and out on their feet as they lined up for the last game. Despite this, they never gave up, but they were just overrun in the end and would finish in second place and the feile adventure would be done. When we look back, they played four games , won three and lost one. An admirable performance any day of the week by any standards. Their disappointment was immeasurable as they lay shattered and saddened on the pitch. However, as a club, we are immensely proud of them and their coaches. Their efforts will be recorded in another chapter of the Clubs history and live long in the memory of the team. Seans Abu
