Fr. Pat McHugh
This week, we said farewell to Fermanagh native, Fr. Pat McHugh. From his arrival to the parish, in the mid-eighties, he was destined to be a part of the Sean Mac Diarmada Club. When the GAA forms part of your DNA, it is impossible to stand idly and not be involved with it at whatever level you can. Fr. Pat became a strong integral part of the Club, both in coaching and at committee level for development. In 1988 he was a member of the management team that guided the Club to a Dr Ward Cup win at senior level. Success was a motivation and he was keen to improve the Juvenile structure. As a result, and out of this, was born the Elco Oil Juvenile Programme. This was infamous for many youngsters of the time and developed the skills of many players that went on to represent the Club at senior level. In 1993, the Club made Fr McHugh a Lifetime Honorary Member. This accolade was in recognition of his contribution to all aspects of Club life that he was involved with. While he later moved on to different parishes and positions, he stilled maintained very close links with the area. His demeanour of being strong in stature did not reflect is reserved and respectful personality that everyone knew. While we have lost a notable Club member, the friendships and memoires left behind, of Fr. Pat McHugh, will remain with us. To all his family and friends we extend our sincere sympathies, Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam naofa

The boys head to Clones at 11am on Saturday morning for their next Spring League match.
U13’s
Well done to our U13’s who entertained Doohamlet on Saturday morning and secured a great win. In a high scoring game the lads took their goals and got them over the line.
U15’s
The lads played hosts to Latton on Thursday evening. Coming off a defeat to Truagh the week before you could see, from the off, that they were hungry to put the record straight. In a strong display, they took control early on and never looked back. The visitors did mount a comeback at the start of the second half but this was closed out and the win secured. A long trip to Magheracloone on Thursday will be there next games and a stern test on the cards and we wish them well.
