Also, as our prize money payout is nearly at €200k, some lucky player will secure a €1000 bonus next week for getting us to the magic figure. Our generosity knows no bounds and we will also have a free draw, in the run in to Christmas, where all weekly players will automatically be entered for two tickets each week for the Monaghan GAA ‘ win a home in Lanzarote’. Get in early and secure your book for next week. Follow all our free promotional offers on our social media pages. Get in early and get your books. If you have any queries, please message us on Facebook, Instagram etc, and we will assist in every way possible. Good luck and remember in playing bingo at home everybody stays safe.

AGM

Our AGM took place on Sunday last in accordance with all Government guidelines. It was great to see the membership in attendance as the meeting was held in doors but also available outdoors from the comfort of the cars. Our Committee Officers gave their addresses to the membership and reflected on the year that had gone. The financial situation, development, highs and lows, were all recalled, and we acknowledged those associated with the club who went to their eternal reward during 2021. With no elections taking place, our outgoing Chairperson Sean McElvaney, handed the baton to Brian McPhillips for the coming year. Brian, has held the Vice Chair position and was also the Chairperson of the Juvenile Committee so he will be more than capable in the role and there will be nothing new to him. Just to say, Sean, as the ongoing Chairperson, has served for seven years in the job and ably so. His dedication and commitment was never found wanting during his tenure. Attention to detail, professionalism and diligence were the norm for Sean, and nothing less would do. This is so evident with the way he has moved from the role and left the Club in a place that most others could only envy. A couple of other important members decided to step down this year. Aoife McElvaney has been our Cultural Officer and we thank her for her work during her time on the committee and wish her well in Galway as her career is about to blossom. Mary Farrelly also did not seek re-election for 2022. She has been a dedicated part of the committee for a number of years and carried out trojan work selling tottos at games, coordinating the club shop merchandise and helping each and every Monday night at bingo when it was running in the hall. This has been a serious devotion for many years, by Mary, and the Club is most grateful. There are some new faces we would like to welcome to the executive committee for 2022, Mickey and Collette McNellis, Sean Grant and Roisin McGuirk. The new executive will be; Chairperson Brian McPhillips, Secretary Fergal Ward, Assistant Secretary Michelle Boyle, Treasurer Mary McConnon, Assistant Treasurer Ashley Maguire, PRO Adrian Forde, Registrar Peadar Mc Guinness, Cultural Officer Ryan Connolly, Committee, Alan Treanor, Karen McKenna, Roisin McGuirk, Mickey McNellis, Collette McNellis, Enda Murphy, Peter Sherry, Stephen Kelly, Sean Grant and Patrick Kieran. No doubt , the new committee, will strive to maintain and boost the high standards and values that has made the Club great.

Ulster Junior Club Championship

Willie Nelson frequently sang about being ‘ on the road again’, and this is starting to ring true for the Seans. Our journey in the Ulster JFC semi final will take us to Ederney in Co. Fermanagh on Saturday. There, we will take on the champions from Donegal, Downings GFC at 1pm. Please note that tickets must be bought on line prior to the game. This has been a massive achievement to date for the team and management and we would surely love a crack at the final. However there’s a tough job to done and no better band of men to send to do it. We wish them all the best for Saturday, and maybe with a few prayers, we could sneak a place in the final. Go for it lads.
