Club Development

Over the past few weeks there has been significant work being carried at the Club grounds. From new entrance doors , tarmac surfacing and now the redevelopment of our training pitch. This work has been in the pipeline for some time, and by chance, all has happened within a short period . It is the culmination of hard work from numerous committees to secure funding to undertake the work to improve and enhance the Clubs facilities.

Junior Championship

The senior squad take on Rockcorry, at home on Saturday evening at 5.30pm. This is our second game in the championship and win is vital fixture to keep the qualifying hopes alive.

Juveniles

Last Saturday was another chance for silverware when our U17 Seans na Mullai team as they headed for Cremartin to take on Oglaigh Naomh Buach in the Div 2 Shield Final. Confidence was high on the run into the game, however some injuries during the week did leave some players at a distinct disadvantage. However, regardless, they would take the field and give it their all. The opposition were strong from front to back but this didn’t deter our boys who got stuck in early on. Naomh Buach were very capable of breaking the defence when the opportunity arose and their fluidity was difficult to control at times. That said, the lads made their own luck and took their scores well. As tired legs and injuries began to take hold, we fought hard but we couldn’t push the back the tide and victory was lost. The winners could not be disputed with their fine display, but neither could the Seans na Mulllai efforts and endeavours. This is the second year of our amalgamated teams and we can only praise and compliment the management and players on the way they have come together as players and now as friends. The Club would like to congratulate all involved on the commitment given and shown all season.

Kilmore and Drumsnatt Sports and Activity Hub

The Sean Mc Diarmada GAA in Partnership with the newly formed “Kilmore and Drumsnatt Sports and Activity Hub” hosted the Dawn to Dusk Run Walk or 7Km for SOSAD on Sunday last .Our facilities were opened for everyone in the community to walk safely for this great charity. This family occasion was to help raise funds for SOSAD while being active in doing so. This was a great family event for all taking part and food and refreshments was also available. A big thanks to Mattie Norris for the burgers, Brendan McMahon for the baked goods and our Club Chairman for getting the apron and hat on to drive the BBQ. Well done to all the organisers on a very successful event.

The sports and activity hub is an initiative of Monaghan Sports Partnership and will be officially launched later in September. .
