Another great night for our punters as we paid out nearly €5600 in prizes on Monday last. Minor Boys
Our minor lads fell short in the League Final last Friday Night in Toome. Opponents, Inniskeen, gave a much stronger display and we were unable to get to grips with the game despite a super start. Going into the break, down by a couple of scores, the lads were confident that they could muster a resurgence for the second period but it was a bridge to far. On the night, Inniskeen were more than deserving of the win, but we did not do ourselves justice. We now head for the knockout championship series on the 5th September, so it’s all shoulders to the wheel.

It was an away day to Oram for round two of the championship series, on Sunday last. Wind and rain came across Mullyash as both teams got stuck into this tight affair. The Seans played a patient game and engineered scores as they presented themselves. Having converted a penalty at the midway stage, the lads went into a five point lead at the break. The home side had the wind advantage for the second period, and the game became tighter. Points were exchanged, but a fortuitous goal suddenly pushed Oram in front by two. The lads dug deep and tapped over a couple of scores to nose in front by a single point. With the clock almost out, confusion over a disputed sideline ball which, when taken by the home side, resulted in a foul on the two point arch. Oram duly converted the monster kick and secured a one point win. Having played reasonably well, we must take the positives into our home game with Toome this Saturday evening. All is far from over and we’re only getting warmed up,

The senior ladies head to Gavan Duffy Park on Saturday evening for their second round of the Championship. On the back of a tight drawn game with Killanny, the girls will be hoping to go one step further and get a win on the board.
