That was the week that was.

It was a week of extreme highs and devastating lows for the GAA community in our small County. As usual we continued to punch above our weight and secure victories in the Ulster Championship which , in the normal context, would create the much needed buzz for the discerning fans. However, on Saturday night, the same GAA community , was plunged into their darkest hour when news broke of the untimely death of Brendan Ogie Duffy. Since then, the tributes have come far and wide for this young man and rightly so. He and his fellow teammates had given us superb memories and they were destined to give us so many more but alas this will be without Brendan. To quote a famous Sportsperson who said “ a Sportsman is a guy who walks off the field and you cant tell whether he has won or lost , when he carries himself with pride either way’’. Brendan Ogie Duffy was a Sportsman. Ar dheis de go raibh a anam.

Bingo at Seans

The good weather didn’t distract our Bingo goers from having a punt on Monday night. One lucky winner hit the spot with one of our €1000 jackpots.
