Senior Men League A home game on Sunday for round two of the league, and Currin were the visitors. This would be another dogged affair of scrambling for possession from the start. Scores were exchanged in the first period with neither team setting the day alight. At the break the Seans were two points in front and went three in front after the resumption. However, a missed timed pass gave Currin the goal chance they needed and suddenly, we had lost our momentum. From here, we failed to regain the lead despite our best efforts. The visitors would finish stronger and three points was the margin. Not the confidence builder we were hoping for and we are yet to get off the foot of the table. Early days, to be fair, and the injury crisis is hopefully starting to moderate. Next up is an away fixture with Oram on 9th of May. Hopefully, we can iron out the creases and be ready for another close encounter.
Reserve Ladies League Hard luck to the reserve ladies who went down to Scotstown by the smallest of margins last Saturday. By all accounts, having scored 4-8 they probably felt a win was possible. However, An Bhoth had different ideas and managed over the line by a single point.
