Bingo at The Seans
Monday night bingo kicked off our festive season as we paid out nearly €6500 in prizes. The bonus ball was won and now returns €200. The main jackpot has once again survived another week and it now stands at a staggering €14200 , with all other jackpots back in place. Our festivities began with our first week of Santas Christmas Sack of Gold. Players will be entered each week into the sack and there will be tasty cash prizes as we head for the 25th of December. We now have an incredible €23000 plus in prizes on offer again next week. You cannot afford to miss it. Follow us on all our social media outlets for all our updates and promotions.
Club AGM
There was a great turn out for our AGM on Sunday last from our membership in the club complex. As there were no elections the executive officers remain the same under the stewardship of Brian McPhillips. With Kelsey Maguire and Michelle Boyle stepping down from the committee, we would like to welcome Eunan McEntee, Carmiel Kieran and Lauren Hughes to the executive for the coming year. The meeting went through all the reports from the Club Officers and these outlined our financial records and the highs and lows for the year gone by. The Club membership were full of praise for the manner in which the reports had been delivered and congratulated all teams on their efforts throughout the year. The Chairperson noted those who had passed away during 2025 and reflected on their involvement and contributions. Having the discussed a number of issues from the floor the meeting was drawn to close with a pray of remembrance.
Players of The Year
Our Senior Players of the Year for 2025 are Lauren Hughes and Ashley Maguire. Both players were voted by their peers for their contribution to their respective teams in 2025. The Club would like to congratulate both players who were presented with their awards on Sunday evening following the AGM.
Christmas Party
A big thanks to all our guests for coming to the inaugural Seniors Christmas Party on Saturday evening last. This was a new concept for the community and one, on which, we hope to build. The event would not have been possible only for our hard working organising committee under the direction of Seannie Larkin. Our guests were treated to good food and entertainment. The Club would like to thank our own musicians and singers from our Cultural groups, The Four Seasons Hotel in Monaghan for their helping out with table accessories, Larmers Butchers for the excellent catering, Sean McElvaney on the Bingo numbers and Santa Claus for helping with the prizes. This was a great community event where friends and relatives met up and started their festive celebrations. From the early feedback we have received, this was a great idea and should be maintained going forward.
Scor Na nÓg
The Sean Mac Diarmada Club will be hosting the Scór na nÓg final on Saturday 6th Dec. at 2pm. Our own Novelty Act and Ballad Group will be taking part and will get to preform in front of their home crowd. Hopefully they will get their just rewards for all their hard work. Well done to the competitors and their mentors on getting to the finals and we wish them the best of luck. Please come and support them on the day.
