Bingo at The Seans
Another massive night of bingo as we not only, paid out nearly €7000 in prize money on the night, but we have now crossed €1.3 million in prizes given since we went online. Well done to the winner of our extra €1000, however, there was no luck for anyone with the main jackpot, and it moves on to a whopping €12800, the bonus ball moves on to €300, with all other jackpots back in place. Junior Championship
Emyvale were are visitors on Sunday last for the latest round of the Junior Championship, group stages. This was always going to be a tough encounter but as the first half rolled out we were quite evenly matched, with Emyvale only two points to the good at the break. The second period was sloppy at times by the Seans and gifted the opposition two goals early on. From here were chasing a nine point deficit. However, this spurned a massive revival in spirits and we, once again, took the game to the visitors. With only two pints in the difference in the closing quarter, we were gaining momentum, but alas, a third goal late on put paid to any possible recovery and Emyvale closed out the win by five. While we didn’t win, we certainly didn’t disappear when we fell behind against a very strong side and that has to be encouraging. We now have a short break and will return with our last group stage game on the 7th of Sept. with an away tie to Scotstown.

Well done to our U12 Girls, who secured the LGFA Div 2 Cup on Thursday last in Drumhowan against Inniskeen. This game had it all, nerves, excitement, and a never ending spirit not to give up. It was all very cautious by both teams for much of the game as scoring was scarce, but action was plentiful. The game would play out a draw in normal time, which was heart stopping stuff for an anxious crowd, as we were heading to more drama with extra time. However, the Girls made their mark in the first period of the added time as they rattled Inniskeens net. They had now found their mojo which had taken them all the way to the final. From here, the result was never in doubt, and the cup would be travelling home to Pairc Sheain Mhic Diarmada. Congratulations to the team on their tireless work, and their coaches, David and Catriona, who have done so much work with them this season. A super cavalcade guided them home for the celebrations in the Club Complex. It was huge excitement for the Girls and their families as the victory began to sink in as they tucked into their victory pizzas. Well done to the Girls and commiserations to Inniskeen, who made the game a great spectacle on the night.
