Senior Men Reserve League
Doohamlet were our visitors on Sunday afternoon for round three of the league. Another scorcher of a day and the game wasn’t far behind. It was fast paced from the start and Doohamlet had 1-2 on the board before we could draw breath. However, the lads steadied things and slowly found their rhythm. Both teams hit some great scores and after a flurry of goals, the Seans were still only two points in arrears at the break. The second period was energy sapping in the heat and both sides struggled to take control. However, despite our best efforts, Doohamlet hit the net for a fifth time late on and gave them a cushion to see the game out by six points. Goals win games and they probably done so on the day. A highly entertaining game regardless of the defeat.

Senior Ladies Junior League
Our ladies had the long trek to Corduff on Sunday morning for round one of the Junior League. A stiff breeze gave the home team the advantage in the first half and they capitalised well to give themselves a good lead at the break. However, our Ladies dug deep and battled hard, in the second period, as they tagged on good scores. Corduff’s lead was a tall order to overturn and in the end, they ran out winners by six points. Defeat is always difficult, but in this case, our girls upped their performance in the second half which , while not enough on the day, was very encouraging.

Our minors boys kicked off their league with a difficult assignment in Truagh. The team, struggling for numbers, tried very hard but Truagh were much stronger in every area of the pitch and ran out comprehensive winners. Next up is a home tie with St. Patricks.

Well done to our newly amalgamated team , Rock McDermotts, who kicked off their league with a great win over St. Patricks on Thursday night. The Seans have paired up with Rockcorry for this competition and the team is showing good potential for the season.
