Junior Football League
Well done to the team who regrouped from their home defeat to Aghabog with a super away win against Eire Og on Saturday evening. Despite falling behind in the opening half, they took a grip of the second period and affirmed their authority by kicking some great points and racking up seventeen scores. A six point victory was their reward for the hard work. An unfortunate injury to James Clerkin slightly tainted the win but we wish him a speedy recovery.
Minor Ladies
Hard luck to Minor ladies who lost out to a very strong Donaghmoyne team on Thursday last. The visitors established an early lead and it left a hill that was to much to climb. However, it not deter the efforts of the players and they will bounce back.
U16 Boys
The boys hosted Latton on Thursday for their second encounter in seven days. The team has been ravaged by injuries and , as in the previous fixture, Latton capitalised early on by establishing a substantial lead. Once again, a valiant second half reduced the deficit but it wasn’t enough. The lads now take a break for exams and some time for rebuilding.
U14 Girls
Donaghmoyne were once again the visitors on Monday night for the latest round of the U14 Girls league. This was a great encounter from the off as our girls hit the front early on. A blitz on our guests goal resulted in creating a lead from which their was no return. A confident display of score taking and defending gave the girls a well earned victory on the night.
U14 Boys
Hard luck to the lads who travelled to Cremartin on Saturday morning last. A hugely entertaining affair as the boys scored 6-13 but were pipped to the post by the home side who had a tally of 7-14. A high scoring game thrilled the support but unfortunately our efforts weren’t rewarded with a win. That said its still a learning curve and they are progressing well.
Kilmore & Drumsnatt Community Games.
Well done to the U13 Boys soccer team who finished 4th in the National Finals last weekend. This was on the back of becoming Ulster Champions a few weeks previously. A great achievement for the parish.
